I love working with flutists of all ages and abilities! Everyone come to lessons with a different goal, and I like to tailor our time based on the student’s interests and needs. We may include music listening, music theory, music history, overall wellness/posture, breathing, and more. It also means we will learn to use a metronome and tuner and play lots (and I mean LOTS) of scales. We incorporate popular and film music if there is interest. Sight-reading (playing something new for the first time) is a skill we develop best by working on often, and I love to play duets with students to work on this skill. It is my hope that my students will develop a life-long passion for music, community, and learning.

I began teaching flute in 2006. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Minnesota, where I studied with Immanuel Davis.

As a musician, I am always exploring different projects. I currently teach private flute lessons in Stillwater, MN. I have volunteered with the Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra and with the Upper Midwest Flute Association, in Minneapolis, MN. If you love local chamber music, I invite you to attend a concert put together by Marine Candlelight Series, a classical chamber music concert series in Marine on St. Croix! Stay tuned for other performances and experiences.

Private flute lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students are currently offered in person in Stillwater, MN.
